Recently other techniques have been developed which permit development of the embryo in a donor animal - a technique called [[Reproductive Technologies -Multiple Ovulation and Embryo Transfer- Anatomy & Physiology|embryo transfer]]. This technique has some unique advantages and is becoming popular in some equine studs.
