This order of the phylum Spirochaetes is divided into three families.
Family Brachyspiraceae (species Brachyspira pilosicoli)
Family Leptospiraceae (genus Leptospira)
Family Spirochaetaceae (genera Borrelia, Spirochaeta and Treponema)
