Caused by Sporothrix schenckii
Cutaneous, may involve lymhatic vessels or disseminate
Occurs in horses, cattle, cats and dogs
Grossly:
- Ulcerated cutaneous nodules
- Fistulas may form
Microscopically:
- Hard to find ovoid to elongated organisms
- More numerous in cats
Exudate may be infectious to humans if comes into contact with wounds
