- Happens due to impaired osteoclastic activity
- Primary trabeculae do not transform into secondary and tertiary
- Continue to elongate
- Form a dense band beneath growth plate - growth retardation lattice
- Dense spikules apparent on radiographs
- Can be caused by Distemper Virus, Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus
