Kate is a Veterinary Clinical Pathology Lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), UK

Biography

Kate joined The RVC as an undergraduate having already completed a biochemistry BSc at Queen Mary and Westfield College, London. After graduation from the RVC in 1999 Kate worked at the Battersea Dogs and Cats home, and a mixed practice in Bishops Stortford before returning to the RVC in 2001 as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Veterinary Clinical Pathology.

Following this Kate worked at IDEXX laboratories in Wetherby as a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist for two years before returning to the RVC again as Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Pathology in 2006.

Research

Kate has had an interest in respiratory fungal diseases with past research on Pneumocystis. Kate is currently looking at novel diagnostic methods for Aspergillus. Kate also works with a number of other teams at the RVC providing clinical pathology support, including VECTAR and looking for risk factors for canine cancer.

Teaching at the RVC

Kate teaches on the undergraduate BVetMed and postgraduate MVetMed courses at the RVC, primarily covering the wide range of clinical pathology topics. Kate teaches a clinical pathology session on the Equine Elective course.
