Endomitosis is the process where the cells nuclear material undergoes mitotic division but with no cytoplasmic division or movement of the chromosomes. This produces a nucleus with many copies of the same chromosomes.

For example the polyploidy megakaryocyte can reach up to 64n compared to the usual 2n of diploid cells.
