Pathogenesis
- Atypical circovirus: codes for a second protein called apoptin
- Induces apoptosis of T cells in young chickens
Clinical Signs:
- Anaemia
- Atrophy of thymus and bone marrow
- Intramuscular hemorrhage
Epidemiology
- Endemic worldwide
- Transfer is both horizontal and vertical
