  • Dytrophic: Calcium is deposited due to damage of the myocyte. Myocyte damage may be:
    • Hypoxia.
    • Vitamin E/Selenium deficiency.
  • Metastatic: Occurs with elevated serum calcium for example will occur with:
    • Vitamin D toxicity.
    • Secondary hyperparathyroidism.
