Lisa Milella qualified at University of Pretoria in 1997. She worked in private practice in London and developed an interest in dentistry which she then pursued to specialist level. Lisa is a diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College.

She has been  Principal of a dedicated specialist veterinary dental and oral surgery clinic in the UK. As well as an independent research consultant for a pet food and treats company offering advice regarding dental trials and research projects. She has also been a  part time clinician at Bristol University teaching first opinion dentistry to final year students

Recently she has been involved in charity work as a veterinary dentist for International Animal Rescue working at projects in India and Indonesia with rescued dancing bears, tigers, slow lorises rescued from the pet trade as well as other primates (macaques and orangutans)
