Flies

  • Bites may cause irritation, anaemia, toxicity or hypersensitivity
  • Grossly:
    • Wheals and papules around puncture wound
    • Hair loss, scales, crusts, erythema
  • Microscopically:
    • Superficial perivascular dermatitis
    • Eosinophilic folliculitis, +/- furunculosis
    • Intraepidermal pustules
    • Eosinophils and necrosis
