Working with Other Veterinary Organisations

The WikiVet team has made a number of useful contacts with other veterinary organisations recently.

In April Nick Short and Zoe Belshaw gave a brief presentation to the British Veterinary Association - Overseas Group about WikiVet. The group discussed the potential to use the wiki to support veterinary education in the developing world and as a possible replacement for traditional textbook distribution schemes in the future.

The Continuing Professional Development Co-ordinator of the The Commonwealth Veterinary Association, Jeff Cave, has forwarded details of WikiVet to all the CVA Regional Representatives around the Commonwealth. There have already been quite a few additional new members joining as a result and comments such as "I AM SO DELIGHTED ABOUT THIS. IT IS AS IF IT WAS DESIGNED TO SOLVE OUR PECULIAR PROBELMS IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD. THANKS A MILLION FOR THIS WORTHY INITIATIVE." from Dr Nasir Olatunji in Nigeria.
