| − | BVSc: It is a full-time five-year degree programme. “A’ level passes in Biology & Chemistry is compulsory plus at least one other science subject (Mathematics and/or Physics) and a point system is used. ‘O’ level English Language and Mathematics are also a requirement.

| − | DVN: It is a full-time two-year degree programme and the entry requirements are 5 “O” level passes inclusive of Mathematics, Biology & English Language

| − | MSc/MVSc/MPhil/DPhil: For the Masters Degree programmes, it is 2 years and 3 years for full-time and part-time students, respectively and first degree with a 2.1 or better in the relevant area of study is a requirement. For the DPhil programme, it is 4 years for full-time and 8 years for part-time students and a Masters degree is a requirement.

| − | It is governed by the General Academic Regulations for undergraduate programmes of the University of Zimbabwe and Faculty regulations. The courses are not semesterised. Candidates must pass every course in a part before proceeding to the next level. A student who fails a course may be allowed to sit for supplementary examinations. A compulsory certified 3-month extra-mural practical at a veterinary establishment for every student as from Year 3 is required.
