Description
Inguinal hernias occur when abdominal organs move into the inguinal canal where they may become incarcerated or strangulated. A true hernial sac is formed by the parietal peritoneum or the tunica vaginalis. In entire male animals, the inguinal canal is continuous with the scrotum and abdominal organs may reach this location when herniated.
