Introduction
- The CNS is composed of two major cell types:
- Neurons
- Glial cells, which include:
- Astrocytes
- Oligodendrocytes
- Microglial cells
- Ependymal cells
- Choroid plexus epithelial cells
- The response to injury varies with the cell type injured.
