PHYSICAL DISRUPTION

  • Displacement:
Torsion, the uterus is enlarged, e.g. due to pyometra (pregnancy - cow). Sequelae are congestion, oedema, foetal death, uterine rupture.
Prolapse, seen in cow, ewe, sow and may be post partum, secondary to hypocalcaemia or prolonged dystocia. Sequelae are congestion, oedema, necrosis, shock.
