Caused by Dichelobacter nodosus.
- Contagious, economically important disease
- Wet pasture and hydrated stratum corneum leads to colonisation by Gram positive cocci and Arcanobacter pyogenes, followed by F. necrophorum; addition of D. nodosus causes footrot
- Can lead to loss of hoof
