Caused by Dichelobacter nodosus.

    • Contagious, economically important disease
    • Wet pasture and hydrated stratum corneum leads to colonisation by Gram positive cocci and Arcanobacter pyogenes, followed by F. necrophorum; addition of D. nodosus causes footrot
    • Can lead to loss of hoof
