Endocrine Myopathy

• Hyperadrenocorticism
  • Muscle weakness is a clinical sign
  • -> muscle atrophy
    • Type II myofibre atrophy is non-specific
    • Type IIB myofibre atrophy is preferential in hyperadrenocorticism
• Hypothyroidism can cause muscle atrophy
