Carprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic properties. Its mode of action is unknown though some believe it is a COX 2 inhibitor. It has been recommended at 2-4 mg/kg SC initially, followed by 1-2 mg/kg every 24-72 hours. Injectable and oral formulations are available.
