|History= ICBAS was created in 1975 after the portuguese Carnation Revolution ("25th of April") by a group of individuals from the University of Oporto (Corino de Andrade, Nuno Grande, Ruy Luís Gomes). The structure and the teaching methods of this university were inspired by the work of its patron: Abel Salazar (physician, lecturer, researcher, writer and painter; 1889-1946).
