THELAZIA SPECIES

General

  • Eye worm, T. lacrymalis.
  • Spiruroid nematode (1-2cm long).
  • Conjunctival sac, inner aspect of third eyelid.
  • Quite common (up to 30% UK horses).
  • Non-pathogenic.

Life-Cycle

  • Indirect LC; nuisance flies, Musca species.
