- Calcium hydroxyapatite deposition in the axial skeleton and included marked fibrocartilagenous proliferation resulting in compression of the cervical cord
- 10wk old Gt Dane
- Ca2+ and Phosphorous serum levels normal
- May get skeletal malformations secondary to the deposition of the mineral in the joint (starts on the articular facets of cervical vertebrae)
- In humans, associated with point mutation in type II procollagen gene
