Chondroma

• Benign neoplasm of hyaline cartilage
• Rare in animals
• Affects dogs, cats, cattle and sheep
• Grossly:
  • Slow growing and expansile with smooth border
  • Roughly spherical masses
  • In flat bones and ribs
• Histologically:
  • Lobules of well defined hyaline cartilage
  • Devided and encapsulated by fibrous tissue
  • May undergo endochondral ossification
