Colubrinae

Colubrinae is a subfamily of Colubridae. They are a diverse group of snakes that could be described as typical colubrids. Some have rear-fangs (such as Thelotornis and Dispholidus spp.). Genera include common racers (Coluber spp.), whipsnakes and coachwhips (Masticophis spp.), smooth snakes (Coronella spp.), egg-eating snakes (Dasypeltis spp.), rat snakes (Elaphe spp.), kingsnakes and milk snakes (Lampropeltis spp.) and gopher snakes (Pituophis spp.).
