Mission
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Kafrelsheikh University is an educational and research institute which graduates veterinarian able to compete for career and to provide an effective operation in developing of animal, poultry and fish wealth. It also keeps the community and human health by applying the quality of education, research and training.
About Us
- Tanta University resolution was released on 29- 5-1985 about constructing Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Kafrelsheikh. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Abdlelaziz Mohammed; head of Pharmacology department was appointed as a supervisor on the process of constructing the faculty.
- The process of construction was in an auction on 17- 1- 1987. While initiating the execution process started on 1- 8- 1988
- The study started in the faculty during the year 1991- 1992, with only the first grade (cooardination of secondary stage) and the second grade (transformed from other universities), based on the resolution of the university council on 25- 7- 1991.
- The university president released a resolution in January 1991, that states appointing prof. Dr. Mustafa Abdleraziq Mohammed as a dean for the faculty who resumed his position until the age of 60 years on 23- 7- 1995.
- The university president released a resolution on 17- 8- 1995 that states appointing prof. Dr. Elsaid Mohammed Fotouh as a supervisor on the construction process of the faculty, then a new resolution was released stating his appointing as a dean for the faculty on 25- 12- 1995
- The university president released a resolution on 16- 12- 1998 that states renewing the appointment period of prof. Dr. Elsaid Mohammed Fotouh as the dean of the faculty, for three consequent following years
- The university president released a resolution on 1- 1- 2002 that states appointing prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdlenaby El Seify as the dean of the faculty, until 30- 12- 2004
- Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Fotouh Hassan carried out the requirements of the faculty dean for the period from 1- 1- 2005 until 29- 12- 2006
- The university president released a resolution on 30- 3- 2005 that states appointing prof. Dr. Bahy Husein Sorour as the dean of the faculty.
- Prof. Dr. Farouq Elsaid Abdelmahdy carried out the requirements of the faculty dean from 1- 8- 2006 until 2- 12- 2008
- Kafrelsheikh University president released a resolution on 3- 12- 2006 that states appointing prof. Dr. Aly Abdleqader Tolbah as a new dean for the faculty
Education
Services carried out by the faculty:
- Free remedy campaigns that targeted the villages prevented from the veterinary medicine care whether in Kafrelsheikg Governate or even Elgharbyah Governate
- Holding on seminars related to topics and issues that serve the society.
- Assessing the super medical service within the different instructional hospitals belonging to the faculty whether in surgery, delivery, abdominal, infectious, poultry and fish sections
- Continuous care of improving environment within the faculty.
- Continuous awareness to the citizens about the different ways of prevention in sudden diseases such as FMD, and Flu
- Providing different levels courses in computer and all the supplies related to veterinary medicine to increase knowledge and awareness of workers in the veterinary sector.
Clinical Services
The Public Service Centre provides a special care in the following fields:
- Veterinary surgery for horses and farm animals besides domestic animals
- Delivery and artificial insemination operations for all animals
- Birds and fish diseases
- X rays and ultrasounds scanning
- Analyzing the animals feeds
- Poultry and fish analysis labs
- Microscopic examination of parasites
- Providing medicines for all animals, fish and poultry, in addition to other analyses and examinations, just for minimal fees
