Epidermal inclusion cysts can be misdiagnosed as abscesses because they may be contaminated by secondary bacterial infections. They are analogous to canine sebaceous cysts. They are usually on the dorsal or lateral tail or mandible
Diagnosis - Physical examination and microscopy.
Treatment - Surgical excision or amputation.
