Systemic antibiotics are indicated for pyrexic horses and those with acute renal failure. Appropriate antibiotics include pencillins, cephalosporins, enrofloxacin and tetracycline. IV fluid therapy is also warranted as supportive therapy in cases of acute renal failure.
