The Department of Veterinary Medicine later combined with the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and the Faculty was then known as “Faculty of Agronomic, Veterinary and Forestry Sciences”. Thereafter, the carrer leading to the professional degree of Agricultural Engineering was created at the Chillán campus and the Forestry Engineering was moved to Concepción campus. In 1993 the Faculty of Agronomic, Veterinary and Forestry Sciences was transformed into the faculties that currently belong to the Chillán campus; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agronomy and Faculty of Agricultural Engineering.
In 2002 the Veterinary Clinical Hospital was opened at the Chillán campus. Subsequently the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine changed its name to Faculty of Veterinary Sciences which then lead to the opening (in parallel to Chillan) of the Veterinary Medicine course at the Concepción campus in 2004.
