General Structure
- In the ewe and nanny goat, the mammary gland is restricted to the inguinal region.
- Comprises two mammary complexes, one on each side of the ventral midline.
- Each complex consists of a single mammary unit.
- Duct system of each mammary unit opens in a single orifice on the tip of the teat.
Lymphatics
- In the ewe, lymph may drain directly into the iliofemoral and medial iliac lymph nodes.
