Typhlopidae are a family of blind worm snakes that have a pelvic girdle and one oviduct. They are generally small although some attain a length of 60 cm (2 ft). They are distributed worldwide in the tropics and subtropics. There are three genera: Ramphotyphlops, Rhinotyphlops and Typhlops.
