  • Leydig cells produce Testosterone and Androstenedione under the influence of LH.
    • Provide secondary sex characteristics:
      • Coloration
      • Song during courtship
      • Comb growth.
      • Plumage and Bill colour
    • Testosterone increases spermatogenesis and growth of accessory reproductive organs.
  • FSH initiates growth of semniferous tubules and results in increased spermatogenesis.
