Kingsnakes are common pet snakes of the genus Lampropeltis (subfamily Colubrinae, family Colubridae). Kingsnakes include scarlet kingsnakes (''L. triangulum elapsoides''), grey-banded kingsnakes (''L. alterna''), Californian kingsnakes (''L. getulus californae'') and Florida kingsnakes (''L. getulus floridana''). The common kingsnake (''L. getulus'') has a wide range of North America. Environmental requirements include a temperature range of 23-30°C and a humidity of 50-70%.
