WikiVet has received funding from one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer. The sponsorship has enabled the site to increase the development of content and a range of online services for the profession.

The funding is provided by Pfizer Global Alliances which is working to support veterinary research and education throughout the world, and is being provided for three years.

The WikiVet project was established 2 years ago with limited funding from the UK government. This significant additional support will enable the project to employ a project coordinator as well as significantly increase the production of new content. Nick Short, one of the founding collaborators, said “There has been significant interest in WikIVet from vets and students around the world. This funding will enable us to significantly increase the resources that we can offer to this international audience. It will therefore help to secure the site as one of the premier veterinary education resources on the web”
