Clinical signs

  • Failure to pass faeces
  • Tenesmus
  • Dyschezia
  • Anorexia
  • Lethargy
  • Vommiting

On abdominal palpation the colon is distented with firm faecal material. Digital rectal examination will reveal hardened faecal balls.
