- Inflammation of the larynx - laryngitis.
- Laryngitis can occur as part of an extension of an upper or lower viral or bacterial respiratory infection
- May cause
- Obstruction to airflow
- Aspiration pneumonia
- Acute inflammation passes through the same stages as in rhinitis
