Haemophilus somnus is a species of the Haemophilus genus.
Cattle
Haemophilus sommus is involved in enzootic pneumonia of calves and causes infectious thromboencephalitis, bronchopneumonia and sporadic reproductive tract infections in cattle 1-3 years old.
Sheep
Haemophilus sommus is involved in epididymitis in young rams. It also causes vulvitis, mastitis and reduced reproductive performance in ewes and septicaemia, arthritis, meningitis and pneumonia in lambs.
