Introduction

Fly worry can cause problems around eyes, lips, nostrils and genital areas. Horse and stable flies will multiply in manure, rotting foodstuffs, etc.

Control

  • Stable hygiene, proper and thorough disposal of muck and siting of muck heaps are all important in reducing these pests
  • Fly veils, masks and bonnets can be used

Diagnosis and treatment

The same as that for the horse.
