Overview

Buccal Salivary Glands produce Mucous secretions in cheeks. There are ventral and dorsal sections of the gland in all species.

Species Differences

Canines

The dorsal part of the gland is the zygomatic salivary gland in canine species.

Ruminants

Ruminants possess a third section of the gland, in addition to the ventral and dorsal sections.
