Introduction
The information below is based on that avaliable at "The National Mouse Club", which provides descriptions of fancy breeds of mice - mice bred selectively for the purposes of showing. As with other Small Rodents, the examples displayed below are not strictly breed types but rather, a description of colours and markings commonly found.
Self
- The colours below are the most commonly found in Fancy mice. Body colour should be evenly distributed across the whole body. Ears, tail and belly should also be the same as the main body colour.
Tan
- Any of the self colours are usually found but the belly has a golden appearence with a clear line of demarcation between the body colour and golden belly. Eye colour is usually per that of the non-tan body colour.
Marked
- All examples below are common types of markings. Eye colour is usually the same as the 'Self' coloured varieties.
Satin
- Coat should have a high degree of sheen resulting in a satin appearence. Usually occurs in all standard colours.
