Introduction

The following breeds have been classified according to those listed by Oklahoma State University as this provides a wide range of international breeds. Clearly far more breeds exist than have been included below although these are not likely to be encountered in Europe.

A small number of breeds specific to the UK have been included from the British Pig Association. For further information please see http://britishpigs.org.uk/breedlist.htm.
