Herpes virus infections

  • includes
    • Equine Viral Rhinopneumonitis
    • Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis
    • Feline Viral Rhinopneumonitis
    • Aujesky's disease in pigs
  • in addition to their effects on adults, these viruses cause abortion with characteristic pinpoint foci of necrosis in the foetal liver

NB: Look for the intranuclear inclusions in surrounding surviving hepatocytes
